Winter hike #2 complete!
Hi guys! Winter hike #2 is complete and I survived.
I didn’t take any pictures on this trip cuz I honstly didn’t want to due to the cold condition I was in.
When I got left off it was around -11c and the cold kept in and it was almost -12c around 9am when I finally got the fire up, tent was setup and all the things was put in the tent and the some nudles was made so I could eat some. After that I cooked up some more water and made myself some coffee and after that I hit the bag and tried for several hours to sleep which was haaard! I so gotta get a better sleeping pad!
While doing these things I was constantly fighting with the cold. I had to use my hands without the gloves and they froze like immediately and I had to go back to the fire all over again and get the heat up and then continue with food and tent etc, it was crazy.
The night went well. It was pretty cold on my feet and the air above my head was constantly there and was not very comfort knowning that the cold was out there so I had to hold my head low and just relax and survive the night. When I woke up on the morning around 7 AM it was more snow then it was when I got into the tent there was even snow on the tent.
I packed my stuff (basicly throwed all stuff into the backpack) and head for the main part of the park and got picked up a bit after finally and I even got a hot cup of coffee in the car which was well welcomed!

Winter hike #2 planned
As title says, winter hike #2 is planned, dated today till tomorrow. It is going to be the same as the previous hike two weeks ago but this time I have a bigger pack, my new tent, my new bivy bag and even more interest with me!
Current temp is -7c and a little bit more up in the nothern Sweden where I’m going it’s around -14c which means that it’ll probably be around -10c to -15c degrees which’ll be quite cold but shouldn’t be any problems to manage
The plan with this hike is to have a bigger pack with me which weights even more than all my previous pack’s I’ve been carrying along on my PD events and hikes.
More report and pictures will be posted after I’m home.
Edit: Hike will not be today, I might do it tomorrow instead. Sorry guys.
Collection of clothes and stuff
Thought I would start collecting all my things for both hike and PD gear together. Since it’s so cold outside at the moment you use a lot of more clothes than you do in the summer. There for I bought a lot of clothes last year to have now when the cold has come and beleive me, it’s worth the cash when you’re outside in -5 – -10 (10-20 degress farenheit). This is only my collection of clothes and I am missing a couple of things such as Peckham POLARTEC fleece beanie, ADS Gen III level 1 set, Tennessee Apparel GORETEX pants and my Tru-Spec TRU tops in desert and woodland.
From the left:
Peckham POLARTEC fleece jacket
Peckham POLARTEC fleece pants
Tru-Spec TRU pants woodland
Tru-Spec TRU pants desert
Orc Ind PCU level 5 jacket
ADS Gen III level 2 top
ADS Gen III level 2 trousers
Orc Ind PCU level 5 pants
Outdoor Research PRO MOD gloves
Mechanix Impact Pro gloves
I will post more pictures of all my other stuff later on.
Winter hike #1 complete
Hi guys, hike complete and today I feel good but I would like to stay there another day or so but my backpack isn’t big enough nor did I have enough food etc but it’d be nice.
We arrived at the park around 5 PM and arrived at camp around 7 PM. We made fire, got things together and eat some good nudles and then we tried to sleep but it was kinda hard because we wasn’t tired enough. After a while I believe I fall asleep for a little while but woke up two hours later and couldn’t sleep and rest of the night till 5 AM I don’t remember much but I couldn’t sleep anymore and didn’t freeze at all so I went up, started the fire again and sat there at the fire about an hour when my mate froze like crazy so I borrowed my sleeping bag to him and after an hour aprox he fell a sleep again which was good because he hadn’t sleept much that night. Half an hour later I went to bed again, around 6 AM, and sleept till 7 AM maybe. Woke my mate up and we started to get together for that day. Made breakfast and three hours later we started to walk to the main part of the park and later on we was picked up.
It was around -4-6 degrees during the night I guess because when we was dropped of it was around -2 degrees so it was a cold night but man I love my Snugpak Elite 4 (-15c) sack!
My friend.
My friend had to borrow my Camelbak since he has no own backpack at the moment.
Me.
Believe me, it was DARK!
We finally arrived about two hours later in walking in total dark almost.
A better overview of the shelter.
Fire!
After fire was made we relaxed a bit.
Friend checking map.
Nudles!
Food was long awaited!
Me in sleeping bag.
Two day hike planned for tomorrow
Tomorrow me and a friend will perform a two day hike on Söderåsens Nationalpark. This time we’ll cross the forest and see how the area looks overall. It’ll be a longer walk then last time (for me I mean since I was alone last time) and we’ll stay there for one night and sleep in the shelter. Kitlist and pictures will be uploaded after of course.
Pictures show map of area. Both red and blue trail is about 8 km (4.9 miles) long and we’ll probably do as I did before, go about half the red and then walk across to the blue and follow it. More will come.

Hike in ‘Söderåsens Nationalpark’
Yeasterday I couldn’t stand that it was the last day of my vacation so I figured I should go out and do something so I had 9 mile (1.5 swedish miles, 15 km) long walk through the park. Was very nice to get out some! Think I’m gonna do it next weekend again but this time I’m gonna charge my battery on my camera so I can take some more picture of the beutiful nature we’ve here. Weather was -10 – 15c (-50 – 59F), sunny and almost no wind. A few picture before the camera died at least.
Davies TASC-1 arrived
Just got my TASC-1 headset. There’s a few differeces between this real headset and the replica from ACM. The biggest difference is that the real is much much heavier and not built in, what feels like, cheap poor plastic. The earcup for the ear is much larger and the boom mic is actually not that hard to bend as what the ACM is but still it’s in place.
Kelty Teton 2 person tent with footprint
I have tried to find a decent tent for a decent price and yeasterday I found one of the like four tents I’ve been lookin’ at, the Kelty Teton 2 person tent.
It’s not as camouflaged as I wanted but I might get a new rainfly over in woodland nylon which I’ve been looking at but that’ll come later if I decide in getting it.
